1. Preparation:
Most buyers start looking at listings online, but that’s a mistake.
Before you start looking, you should prepare first. Get your finances in order. Get pre-qualified for a loan.
Research agents. Interview 3 of them. Learn about the new commission rules. Ask questions. Learn.
2. Search:
Contact the agent of your choice, and ask them to set up an automated search for you in the MLS.
That will send you an email as soon as a new property that meets your criteria becomes active.
Ask them include “Coming Soon” properties. You may be able to get a headstart on one before anyone else is aware of it.
3. Offer:
Ask your agent for advice about the offer. There are many variables that might impact it.
Decide how much you are willing to pay for the home, and what number you’ll walk away at, before you write the offer.
There will be an inspection period. It’s possible to cancel during that.
4. Escrow:
After an offer is accepted, the escrow company will make sure everything is correct and disclosed.
We can ask for the seller to give you a credit or make repairs for things found in inspection.
